Gregory Prestegord
Prestegord’s paintings are like windows onto the city—be it from a high-rise or taxicab. They seek out familiar skylines and street corners. Seeking to “capture the feeling of a place,” he is an expressionist whose gestural works are steeped in observation. Landmarks like the Flatiron and Chrysler buildings appear and re-appear in his works, but the perspective, conditions, and kinetic elements give each scene its own rhythm.
A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (2005) who now works out of a studio in Philadelphia, Prestegord has exhibited extensively in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia.
